Daniel Kibblesmith is a writer, cartoonist and filmmaker living in Chicago, Illinois. Since 2009 he has served as a senior copywriter for Groupon, contributing daily original humor content to Groupon The Cat’s Groupon Says column, as well as helping to conduct many of their stranger internal culture projects and marketing initiatives.
As a director, he has collaborated with much of Chicago’s local music and comedy scene, and helped to produce three seasons of The Late Live Show for Second City’s De Maat Theater. He has done video work with and for Groupon, author Michael Wolf, rapper Juiceboxxx, The Dresden Dolls and most recently Yo La Tengo & The Best Show on WFMU.
As a writer, he has contributed original humor pieces to Splitsider and Heavy.com, as well as authoring and illustrating the serialized, surrealized webcomic Hey Ghost.
He is a graduate of Columbia College of Chicago’s Film & Video program, and divides his free time between an inadvisable number of independent video, print and stage projects in Chicago’s lively arts community. He’d like to direct more music videos, interrupt more television shows, and write more comics.
I mean, ideally. Thank you for your time.
